Justin Zottl of Owen Sound returned victoriously form the Burnaby, B.C. Velodrome, yesterday, after a week of a week of competition at the Canadian National Track Cycling Championships. In the Under 17 category, Justin raced in five events over 2 days to win the Omnium and become the U17 Men’s National Champion. Two days later, he raced in the very competitive under 19, Junior Men’s category, along with 3 other Team Ontario athletes to win a silver medal in the Team Pursuit and a fifth in the Team Sprint. The next day Justin qualified and raced in the Junior Men’s individual Sprint competition where he moved up to quarter finals to finish eighth overall. Riding for Arrow Racing, Justin adds this victory to his recent gold medal win at the two-day stage road race held two weeks ago at Elliot Lake. Justin will compete in one more Owen Sound Cycling Club Time Trial in preparation for the upcoming Provincial Individual Time Trial Championships in Platsville.

Former Arrow Racers chosen for Canada Summer Games Team Ontario Former Arrow teammates Jon Kinsie and KK Michener have been selected to represent Ontario at the Canada Summer Games in Prince Edward Island this August. Kinsie was an Automatic choice for his performance at the qualifying mountain bike races, and Michener was an Automatic for her results in the qualifying road races. The Ontario Team consists of six male and six female members (plus two male and two female alternates). Everyone participates in road races, mountain bike races, and road time trials. The Games run for two weeks starting August 15, with cycling events held during the first week.
